Jose Jurado, a professional golfer in the sport`s Golden Age, is probably one of the most recognized figures in Argentinean golf history. The Jurado name is still synonymous with Argentina`s premier golfing family, of which a golf course has been named after. In 1995 Jose`s son, Ricardo Jurado Sr., was invited to visit San Rafael to give advice to a group of entrepreneurial golf enthusiasts on how to build a golf course, and (like countless others who are introduced to the beauty of the Mendoza province) he immediately fell in love with the land. Ricardo Jurado Sr. was driven to embark on a personal journey to combine two of his life`s passions: wine and golf. Proudly brandishing the heritage and reputation of his highly respected family name, the result was the purchase of a well-established vineyard estate. After Ricardo Sr. passed away, Ricardo Jr. continued with the development of a winery and a beautifully manicured 9-hole golf course.
